 Marc Okrand.\n\nMarc Okrand is an American Linguist and is most notable as 
 the creator of the Klingon language. He graduated from the University of 
 California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor's degree. His 1977 doctoral 
 dissertation from the University of California, Berkeley, was on the 
 grammar of the Amah Mutson Ohlone. Okrand then was hired by Paramount 
 Pictures to develop the Klingon language which borrows its linguistic 
 structure on the Amah Mutson.\n\nSponsored by the American Indian Resource 
 Center, the Amah Mutsun Band of Ohlone Indians, and the Office of the Dean, 
 Division of Humanities.\n
