 The strike shut down the mail for an entire week and soon moved across the 
 US. It won higher wages for postal workers across the country and 
 represents an example of workers taking a struggle into their own hands. 
 The strike offers key lessons for workers at BART, AC Transit, and 
 elsewhere to draw from as they confront management and the government
