DESCRIPTION:"Draw the Line: Don't Frack the Pinnacles"\nEast Entrance to Pinnacles
National Park (take Airline Hwy, route 25)\nSaturday Sept. 21, 2013\n9:30am
 - 10am (Assemble at Pinnacles Campground parking lot)\n10 am (March
begins)\n10:30 am (Rally at lawn area near Visitor's Center)\n$5 per
vehicle entrance fee\nBring creative signs, sunflowers, musical
instruments\nBring water and picnic lunch\n\nThe grassroots group, San
Benito Rising, plans to host a peaceful march and rally at the Pinnacles.
(This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Biological Diversity.) Our
goal is to raise public awareness about oil drilling near the Pinnacles.
The San Benito county board of supervisors recently granted Citadel
Exploration a permit for 15 exploratory wells. In the future, Citadel plans
to drill many more wells in a 688 acre area, just 6 miles south of
Pinnacles National Park. Citadel's "cyclic steam injection" wells use huge
quantities of scarce water, could contaminate groundwater, generate toxic
wastewater, and create an industrial site that disrupts wildlife. The
Center for Biological Diversity has filed a lawsuit against San Benito
county because no EIR was done before approval of the Citadel project. San
Benito Rising is collaborating with 350.org on this national day of action
(Sept 21) to "draw the line to protect our communities from climate
change", and demand public policy that supports green, renewable energy
(solar, wind, etc). We are inviting the media to cover this event. The
National Park Service has granted San Benito Rising a 1st amendment permit
for this rally. \n\nFor details about the Citadel oil wells, see
