DESCRIPTION:Creative Growth invites you to uncover the pages and folds of Recto Verso, 
 an exhibition centered around the artist book.\n\nWhen bound in a sequence, 
 the psychedelic tapestries of Rickie Algarva and the infinite variations of 
 Aurie Ramirez'  fantasy figures take on unexpected narrative. Artists John 
 Martin and Dan Miller react to and augment found books and magazines, while 
 Laura Jo Pierce creates auto-biographical vignettes of text and 
 abstraction. \n\nAfter taking in these works and more, kick back in the 
 gallery's "reading room" and thumb through Gerone Spruill's much 
 anticipated Chocolate City of Oakland comic and other newly penned titles 
 by the artists at Creative Growth.\n\nGallery Manager, Catherine Nguyen 
 will present an exhibition walk-through on Thursday, September 19, at 
 11:30AM, along with a ‘reading circle’ with participating
