 cities around the country with successful Safe Sleep spaces, we ask, \n"why 
 can't we have one in Santa Cruz?" \n\nWe've seen homeless people take the 
 brunt of the latest rash of fear mongering triggered by police \nmurders 
 that didn't include homeless suspects. We feel we can do better for these 
 folks than to have them sleeping around our natural areas and inner city, 
 residencial and tourist areas. It has been shown \nthat these camps help 
 reduce crime while helping to heal the situations of homeless people.
