 the US, and is rated as one of the best. \n\nCity College’s strength is 
 in serving the community.  It serves 85,000-100,000 students, and has 
 campuses all over the city, including the Mission, Chinatown, Civic Center, 
 and two campuses in Bayview.  It reaches out to student who dropped out, to 
 unemployed people who need job retraining, to old people who need courses 
 to stay engaged, to immigrants who need English lessons, and to 
 ex-prisoners who are returning from incarceration  All this is in addition 
 to students in vocational training programs or transferring to 4-year 
 schools.\n\nNow the private agency that approves community  colleges and 
 lets them collect state and federal funds is saying they will withdraw 
 their approval and let City College close, unless City College follows 
 their orders to downsize City College and to serve only full-time students 
 in vocational programs or transferring. No low-income students working 
 while studying, no Lifelong Learning programs for older adults, no 
 Diversity programs specializing in communities of color, no programs for 
 people with disabilities - - in short, no community in Community Colleges. 
 They want to do this to ALL California Community Colleges, starting with 
 San Francisco because it’s the biggest and most successful.  \n\nNo Way! 
 Save City College for the Community!   Please come to this community
