DESCRIPTION:How to grow your community in 3 steps: 1) Build an earth oven, 2) Host a
potluck party of wood-fired foods, 3) Invite friends, family, and neighbors
 – it’s that simple! Our community earth oven has served us well for the
last few years but it’s time for a rebuild. \n\nCome join us for a one
day natural building workshop on how to make a sand mold for the dome,
stack the thermal layer around and construct the flue, then pile on the
insulation before finishing with a scratch plaster coat. We’ll talk
briefly about base construction, subfloor insulation and thermal layers and
laying the hearth, but since we already have all that in place we won’t
be building it again. We’ll also go over design strategies, the
thermodynamics of earth ovens, and where to source materials. Please RSVP
for this special event. Tea and Arizmendi baked goods included! \n
