 writers/readers:\n\nJim Munroe's latest movie is Ghosts With Shit Jobs. 
 He's also written the novels Flyboy Action Figure Comes With Gasmask, Angry 
 Young Spaceman, Everyone in Silico and An Opening Act of Unspeakable Evil, 
 plus the graphic novels Therefore Repent! and Sword of My Mouth. He 
 launched his own publishing venture, No Media Kings, and also founded the 
 Perpetual Motion Roadshow and is a founding board member of the Hand Eye 
 Society.\n\nFeatured in the HBO Documentary Asians Aloud, Kit Yan tells 
 stories through slam poetry from the lens of a queer and transgender Asian 
 American from Hawaii who travels all over the world on tour. Through 
 touching love poems, coming out stories, and comedic tales of his 
 childhood. Kit’s work has been taught at universities all over the world 
 from Singapore to San Francisco State to Harvard. Kit is on Campus Pride's 
 Top 25 LGBT college campus speakers and artists hot list and is dedicated 
 to creating positive social change.\n\nZubair Ahmed is a poet whose first 
 book, City of Rivers, was just published by McSweeney's. When he was a 
 teenager, he dropped out of high school and spent a year and a half as a 
 professional video gamer. He studies mechanical engineering and creative 
 writing at Stanford University, and he'll be working at Boeing starting 
 this fall.\n\nJoshua Mohr's latest book is Fight Song, and his other books 
 are Damascus, Termite Parade and Some Things That Meant the World To Me. He 
 teaches creative writing at The Writing Salon in San Francisco and at the 
 University of San Francisco. His short stories have appeared in literary 
 journals, such as Other Voices, The Cimarron Review, Gulf Coast, Pleiades, 
 among others\n\nVirgie Tovar is a sexologist, fat activist and editor of 
 the new book Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love, and Fashion. 
 After teaching "Female Sexuality" at the University of California at 
 Berkeley, where she completed a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 
 2005, she went onto host "The Virgie Show" (CBS Radio) in San Francisco. 
 She is certified as a sex educator and was voted Best Sex Writer by the SF 
 Bay Guardian in 2008.\n\nSean Keane is a regular at the SF Punchline, and 
 performed as part of SF Sketchfest in 2008 and 2009. He's shared a stage 
 with such luminaries as Dave Attell, Arj Barker, and W. Kamau Bell. Sean is 
 the former editor of UC Berkeley's humor magazine, The Heuristic Squelch, 
 and in 2007, he created and produced the Heuristic Squelch Comedy 
 Experience, a series of standup shows to benefit the magazine. He founded 
 the sketch group "Frown Land", as well as a weekly alternative comedy show 
 called "The Business". Sean also runs a popular series of Sean-pun-themed 
 comedy shows; this month, "The Seanshank Redemption" will follow up on the 
 success of "Sean in 60 Seconds" and "The Seanukkah Show". Last year, he 
 played L. Ron Hubbard in "The Jesus Roast", and is a frequent guest host 
 with the Secret Improv Society. Sean's writing has appeared in ESPN the 
 Magazine and McSweeney's.\n\n\nAbout Writers With Drinks:\n\nWriters With 
 Drinks won "Best Literary Night" from the SF Bay Guardian readers' poll six 
 years in a row and was named "Best Literary Drinking" by the SF Weekly. And 
 it was namechecked in Armistead Maupin's latest Tales of the City novel. 
 The spoken word "variety show" mixes genres to raise money for local worthy 
 causes. The award-winning show includes poetry, stand-up comedy, science 
 fiction, fantasy, romance, mystery, literary fiction, erotica, memoir, 
 zines and blogs in a freewheeling format.\n
