DESCRIPTION:Ayisha Pelpon and others of HOMES NOT JAILS, and Ted Gullickson of the SAN
FRANCISCO TENANTS UNION, will speak on their fight against the class and
ethnic cleansing taking place in our city today. \n\nPOSSIBLE SPECIAL
GUEST: OCCUPY BERNAL\n\nHOMES NOT JAILS formed in San Francisco in 1992 to
advocate for the use \nof vacant and abandoned housing by people who are
homeless. With folks \ndying on sidewalks in front of empty buildings,
affordable housing \nadvocates and poor people converged to find ways of
utilizing such \nproperties, making a loud public statement of their
discontent in the \nprocess.\n \n"Homelessness & the exorbitant cost of
housing is a crisis that many in \nSan Francisco, the U.S.A., & the world
appear to accept as "the way it \nis." There is even a myth that living on
the streets is like a \nvacation. \n\nHNJ. Contact:
