DESCRIPTION:When workers don't have an alternative to working for somebody else, there
needs to be a minimum wage. But when a man or woman can choose to work for
himself without paying a premium to "The Boss," then the boss has to pay a
premium to recruit the worker away from self-employment.\n\nSuch was the
case long ago when the Black Death so decimated European populations that
kings and gentry went begging for laborers. In fact, nobility attempted to
unionize and establish a maximum wage!\n\nThere is no need for die-offs to
help raise wages, however. All that's needed is to take back the premium
labor pays the boss for a place to establish independent work.\n\nThe
Commons SF offers stipended workshops illuminating the land and social
justice dynamic, and this Thursday, February 7, the topic is Wages.\n\nWe
pay $20 for each workshop you attend in our Social Justice Advocates
workshop series. This is a hands-on, applied theory teach-in, not a
 historical survey.\n
