DESCRIPTION:SCCCCOR Benefit: “The House I Live In” Film Screening on Martin Luther
King Jr. Day, January 21st, 2013, 7PM\n\nJoin us in honoring the Martin
Luther King Jr Holiday with an event challenging the War on Drugs and the
associated explosion of the prison population, dubbed by some “The New
Jim Crow” for disproportionately targeting people of color. We’ll watch
an award-winning new documentary about the drug war, with a post-film
discussion led by UCSC professor Craig Reinarman, coauthor of “Crack in
America: Demon Drugs and Social Justice”.\n\nThis event will also serve
as a benefit for the Santa Cruz County Community Coalition to Overcome
Racism (SCCCCOR). Tickets are available on a sliding scale $5-15; reserve
 your spot here:
 https://www.wepay.com/events/the-house-i-live-in-sccccor-benefit\n\nThis
event is sponsored by the Santa Cruz Chapter of the ACLU.\n\nIf you have
any questions, please contact SCCCCOR by Facebook, email
info@overcomeracism.org, or call (831)425-4500\n\nLink to the Facebook
