 Berkeley, CA\n\nKeynote Speaker: Fr. Greg Boyle, SJ\n\nFr. Gregory Boyle 
 founded Homeboy Industries in 1988 and is now the largest gang 
 intervention, re-habilitation and re-entry program in the United 
 States.\n\nFr. Boyle is the author of the New York Times Bestselling book, 
 “Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion.”  His debut 
 book has been honored by SCIBA (Southern California Indie Booksellers 
 Association), Pen USA, Publishers Weekly , and Goodreads Choice 
 Awards.\n\nFr. Boyle has received numerous honorary degrees, awards and 
 recognitions including the Civic Medal of Honor, the California Peace 
 Prize, Humanitarian of the Year from Bon Appetit Magazine, and in 2011 was 
 inducted into the California Hall of Fame.\n\nHe has served on the State 
 Commission for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, The National 
 Youth Gang Center Board and the Attorney General’s Defending Childhood 
 Task Force. \n\nSEEDS' 4th Annual Cultivating Common Ground event is an 
 annual breakfast program open to the community in celebration of National 
 Conflict Resolution Day.  This year it takes place at Hs. Lordships 
 Restaurant on the beautiful Berkeley Marina.  \n\nWe are honored to present 
 the following awards at this year’s breakfast event:\n\nMichael 
 Woodbridge Award:\n\nIn memory of longtime SEEDS contributor and loving 
 friend, Michael Woodbridge.  Awarded annually to a SEEDS volunteer who has 
 demonstrated exemplary service by giving generously of their time and 
 talents in support of SEEDS' mission.\n\nCommunity Partner 
 Award:\n\nAwarded annually in recognition of an organization or individual 
 whose work demonstrates a shared commitment to SEEDS vision for individuals 
 and communities in Alameda County.\n\nSEEDS' Youth Leadership Excellence 
 Award:\n\nIn recognition of our communities' future leaders. Awarded 
 annually to an Alameda County young person, ages 12 - 24, who is setting an 
 example for his/her peers in peacemaking, violence prevention and/or 
 community-building efforts."\n\n
