DESCRIPTION:On October 6, 2012, USM St Oakland will host our "Day in Solidarity with
African People" event as part of a nationwide series of events being held
in St. Petersburg, Florida, Philadelphia, San Diego, and other cities
across the US! Find out how you can get involved in DSAP at
uhurusolidarity.org\n\nThe reality is that an African child born in West
Oakland will live 15 years less than a white child born in the Oakland
Hills and that every 36 hours an African is killed by the police in the
U.S.\n\nTo make the necessary change, African people must have power over
their lives and their communities, and we can all have a part in supporting
that struggle.\n\nWhat can you do?\n- Host an event, fundraiser or benefit.
Can you raise $100, $200, $500 by winning support in your community?\n -
Attend the local DSAP organizing committee meeting - every Thursday through
October 4th, 7 pm at the Niebyl Proctor Library.\n - Tune in every Sunday
at 1 pm EST to the “Reparations in Action” online radio show on
uhurunews.com. \n\nBuild for justice and reparations for the African
community, help to build a Day in Solidarity for African People!\n\nDon't
miss this opportunity to see keynote speaker and international
revolutionary leader, CHAIRMAN OMALI YESHITELA, the leader and founder of
the Uhuru Movement, and PENNY HESS, the Chair of the African People's
Solidarity Committee and the author of "Overturning the Culture of
Violence"!\n\nTAKE THE PLEDGE OF SOLIDARITY WITH AFRICAN PEOPLE!
 https://www.wepay.com/donations/days-in-solidarity-with-african-people-2012-facing-the-truth-about-racial-injustice-seeing-the-future-through-the\n\nThe
DSAP is the international campaign of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement and the
African People’s Solidarity Committee for white people and other allies
of African liberation to show their commitment in standing in solidarity
with Africans and other oppressed peoples around the world. It is this day
that we participate in reparations and supporting the programs of the Uhuru
Movement for economic development and self-determination.\n\nA central
feature of the “Days in Solidarity with African People” campaign are
the events. They are a unique opportunity for we in the white community to
hear from the leaders of the African liberation movement. It is also an
opportunity for us to closely examine the true history of the relationship
between white people and African people as well as white people and the
 rest of the world.\n\n\nFor more information - uhurusolidarity.org •
