DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a day of preserving the harvest – canning fruits and 
 tomatoes to enjoy through the winter! Learn everything you need to know 
 about safely canning jam and salsa with a demonstration that you can sample 
 and take home if you'd like*! We'll also talk about solar dehydrating and 
 how to make one like ours.\n\nActivities:\n\n11am-fire up oven, morning 
 refreshments courtesy of Arizmendi Bakery, and general farm work\n\n12pm- 
 Canning 101 – Learn how to safely water bath and pressure can fruits and 
 vegetables to share with your friends and family. We'll show you each step 
 of the way while we process a local fruit jam and a roasted tomato 
 salsa.\n\n1pm- Break for pizza, and other nutritiously, deliciously potluck 
 foods- Bring something from your garden to share!\n\n2pm - Continue to can 
 jam and answer questions about solar dehydration.\n\nLate Afternoon-more 
 work and hangin out, conversatin, eatin and bein merry!\n\nAs always, the 
 ovens will be blazing and we'll provide the dough so bring some pizza 
 toppings, or some other local, seasonal fare to share and compare at our 
 ultra-local potluck.\n\nAlso check out the farm and see appropriate 
 technology demos like solar ovens and dehydrators (if it's sunny), rocket 
 stove, compost toilet, pedal power, earthen structures and of course the 
 cob oven!\n\nBring your own utensils if you got em, and musical 
 instruments, parlor tricks and special talents are always welcome

LOCATION:Next to the athletic field at the School of the Arts and the Academy of 
 Arts and Sciences 555 Portola Dr. San Francisco. Enter campus via 
 O'Shaughnessy Blvd @ Portola. Close to 36, 44, 48, and 52 Muni lines. From 
 the parking area on O'Shaughnessy, walk down the hill to the right towards 
 the athletic field. Limited parking is available further down driveway at 
 loading dock, just keep driveway clear and please do not park on the grass. 
 We'll be on the farm the behind the bleachers across the field. See ya 
 there!
