 ‘Hoods- From Oakland to San Francisco\n\nA Two Day Cross- Bay Healing 
 through art, food and medicine for Youth, Adults and Elders in Poverty 
 featuring author and community healer Luis J. Rodriguez, 67 Suenos, The Po 
 Poets Project  and many more\n\n“Our medicine is already within us,” 
 said Luis J. Rodriguez, author of several important books including his 
 most recent,  It Calls You Back, soon to be released on paper back 
 chronicling his own indigenous healing process and so much 
 more.\n\n\nHealing the Hood is a two day cross-bay, inter-tribal, 
 multi-racial, multi-lingual celebration to heal our bodies, minds, spirits 
 and Pachamama (Mother earth) from the poisons in the air, food, water and 
 land\n\nFeaturing author and community scholar Luis J Rodriguez who will 
 lead healing circles on both days, cultural workers/poets from the Po' 
 Poets Project and 67 Suenos,  as well as youth,  elders, indigenous 
 teachers, cooks, artists and healers sharing ceremony, teaching and healing 
 on how to move off the poisons we as poor people encounter everyday in the 
 US from Burger king to monsanto to the western medical industrial complex 
 and big pharma.\n\nDay 2 will happen in East Oakland to celebrate the 
 launching of the future site of Homefulness and Pachamama community garden- 
 a poor people-led/indigenous people-led solution to Homelessness launched 
 by POOR Magazine\n\nBoth events are co-sponsored by POOR Magazine/Prensa 
 POBRE & 67 Suenos- POOR Magazine is a grassroots, arts organization 
 dedicated to providing revolutionary media access, education and advocacy 
 to youth, adults and elders in poverty locally and globally\n\nNOTE: Luis J 
 Rodriguez will also be present at the following events for book signing of 
 It Calls You Back and a film presentation of the new film Rushing Waters, 
 Rising Dreams: How the Arts are Transforming a Community:\n\n\nTuesday,
