 Rights Fellow\n\nWe will present our ongoing elections protection work in 
 the Bay Area and nationally for the 2012 elections. We will also examine 
 the historic trends of voter disenfranchisement in the Asian and Pacific 
 Islander (API) community, with particular attention to the recent passage 
 of numerous state laws that threaten to disenfranchise over 3.2 million 
 voters of color in the 2012 election. \n\nDespite landmark victories, such 
 as the Voting Rights Act and the Help America Vote Act, communities of 
 color still face exclusionary practices in the voting system. Both explicit 
 and subtle forms of disenfranchisement prevents many APIs from voting, 
 especially those with limited English proficiency. \n\nSponsored by Asian
