DESCRIPTION:Hey Trouble-Makers!\n\nWant a nice relaxing evening after all the hubbub
of Occupying Wells Fargo on April 24th? Hang out with friends and comrades
watching a new movie about direct action to stop climate change with
snacks, drinks and lively conversation? \n\nRising Tide North America is
excited to host director Emily James and screen her new film Just Do It on
April 25th at the New Nothing Cinema, San Francisco. Just Do It is a new
film detailing the inside story of actions in the U.K. Over the course of
one eventful year, director Emily James gained access to a group of
environmental activists using non-violent direct action in the UK climate
movement. They blockade factories, attack coal power stations and glue
themselves to the trading floors of international banks, despite the very
real threat of arrest. Synopsys below.\n \nNow in San Francisco, Rising
Tide North America is delighted to host, with the New Nothing Cinema, Just
Do It- a tale of modern-day outlaws and its director Emily James.\n

 \n---------------------------\n \nJust Do It - a tale of modern-day
outlaws\n \nFor one eventful year, Emily James gained unprecedented access
to film a group of environmental activists seeking results through
nonviolent ‘direct action’ campaigns across England. Embedded in the
activists’ clandestine activities, Emily captured the triumphs, setbacks,
secret planning sessions, and feverish passion of a group of animated,
engaging characters. They blockade factories, attack coal power stations
and glue themselves to the trading floors of international banks, despite
the very real threat of arrest.\n \nMeet Marina, whose enthusiasm for her
cause is infectious as she solves the world’s major problems one cup of
tea at a time; Sally, Cambridge student and budding activist sees mass
 civil disobedience as her contribution to prove that the laws are unjust;
Sophie, the artist activist, is committed to turning the tired political
system on its head by starting her own political party and live art
project; Rowan takes control of his life by taking on capitalism via direct
action protests at coal plants, airports, the Copenhagen Climate Summit and
the climate camp at London’s G20 summit, and Lily, the UK’s ‘Green
Campaigner of the Year’, whose grassroots resistance takes her into local
communities to empower and educate.\n \nThe secret direct action captured
in Just Do It has now gone mainstream with the thousands who have joined
and created their own local Occupy movements. It is everyday people,
citizens of the world who are fed up with critical situations that are
stepping up to make real change happen through the coordination of
 non-violent direct actions and self-managed alternatives.\n \nJust Do It
aims to give all who partake or flirt with the idea of civil disobedience
an accessible tool to infect and inform others.\n \nLet us help you find
 your inner outlaw.\n\n
