 backgrounds may participate in the Walk Against Genocide, a multifaceted 
 event that brings together survivors of genocides and their supporters 
 living in the Bay Area to prevent further mass atrocities like what is 
 happening now in Sudan. Activities feature a 3-mile walk in solidarity 
 around Oakland’s Lake Merritt, presentations by world renowned experts 
 who influence public policy about genocide, training by humanitarian groups 
 for grassroots peaceful prevention, and music by acclaimed soul 
 singer-songwriter Martin Luther McCoy.\n \nWhen:  Sunday, April 29, 12 - 4 
 p.m.; Walk starts at 2 p.m.\n \nWhere:  Lake Merritt Bandstand in Oakland 
 (666 Bellevue Ave., .2 miles from Grandview Ave. near Children’s 
 Fairyland; use 19th Street BART station).\n \nAll events are free but 
 donations welcomed online or at the walk. Funds will go to three Bay Area 
 nonprofit humanitarian organizations: Center for Justice and Accountability 
 (www.cja.org), The Genocide Education Project (www.genocideeducation.org) 
 and the SF Bay Area Darfur Coalition (www.darfursf.org).\n \nFor more
