DESCRIPTION:Walk Against Rape is an opportunity for the communities of San Francisco to 
 come together and raise awareness about sexual assault. The silence 
 surrounding rape in our society keeps survivors isolated and without 
 support. Let's make our voices and stories known, let’s break the 
 silence!\n\nWalk Against Rape:\n•	Raises awareness about sexual 
 violence.\n•	Provides a space for survivors of sexual violence to heal 
 and celebrate their survival.\n•	Educates communities about the resources 
 available in the aftermath of an assault. \n•	Raises money for San 
 Francisco's only community based rape crisis center.\n•	Create a culture 
 that says NO! to sexual violence in our communities.\n•	Makes visible 
 what has historically been silenced and invisible.\n\n\nAbout San Francisco 
 Women Against Rape\n\nSan Francisco Women Against Rape (SFWAR) is a women 
 of color led, volunteer-based organization that has provided rape crisis 
 services to survivors of sexual assault since 1973. As the sole provider of 
 community based rape crisis services in San Francisco City & County, we 
 also offer support services to friends and families of survivors and 
 provide expert advice, training, and assistance to healthcare workers, 
 educators, law enforcement officers and other professionals throughout the 
 city. Our sexual assault prevention education programs have reached young 
 people in classrooms in schools serving every area of San Francisco.  
 Furthermore, SFWAR provides invaluable information and resources to people 
 of all ages through community presentations, technical assistance, outreach 
 efforts at community fairs and festivals, and special events – such as 
 Artists Against Rape, Walk Against Rape, Dine for A Change, and She Who 
 Laughs Lasts.\n\n\n
