DESCRIPTION:Launch Fundraiser Party - International Rescue Group \n\nPROVIDING
FIRST-LINE SUPPORT AND HUMANITARIAN AID TO DISASTER-HIT COASTAL
COMMUNITIES.\n\nSaturday evening March 31st at 7pm at Pasta Pelican on the
Alameda Estuary, we'll be "splashing" the boat and she will be at the dock
for champagne visits all evening, with dinner and live music and dancing!
Here's a great chance to meet the crew, founders, volunteers and
contributors who have got International Rescue Group started!\n\nOur
celebrity host will be Jeffrey Weissman. Jeffrey co-starred as George McFly
in the Back to the Future sequels, he co-starred in Clint Eastwood's Pale
Rider, and with John Lithgow in Twilight Zone the Movie and he has guest
starred on many TV shows: Diagnosis Murder, Saved by The Bell, Scarecrow
and Mrs King among others. More recently, Jeffrey gets raves as ocd
winemaker Jerry Hannon in the hilarious mocu-mentary "corked!", and coming
out soon he plays Mark Twain in the TV Movie, "Mark Twain in the Holy Land"
and the lead in the hilarious "Nobody's Laughing" (see IMDB). Jeffrey
teaches at the San Francisco School of Digital Film Making, and has taught
at universities around the bay area. He's been in over a hundred stage
productions, and has appeared in shows at the Renaissance & Dickens Faires
 for three decades.\n\nOUR
 MISSION\n\nhttp://internationalrescuegroup.org\nProviding first-line
support and humanitarian aid to disaster-hit people, using boats to deliver
food, fresh water and medical supplies to help coastal communities until
governmental or large-scale relief arrives.\nWe aim to demonstrate that a
small vessel can provide real aid in post-disaster situations. It is
estimated that there are 10,000 cruising boats worldwide (sources include
Latitude 38, SSCA and the Cruising Association), many of these are run by
couples or small crews all around the world, who can join the IRG network
 and volunteer to provide aid.\n
