DESCRIPTION:We invite you to the inaugural South Bay Womyn's Conference! Please 
 register and help us extend the invitation.\n\n8:30 AM - 7:00 PM \nSaturday 
 March 17, 2012\nBarrett Ballroom, SJSU Student Union\n\nSan José, CA –   
 San José State University students and South Bay community members will 
 celebrates the work, movements, and stories of the community to empower 
 womyn and allies to find their collective voices and strengthen their 
 communities through their inaugural South Bay Womyn’s Conference: 
 Herstory – Uniting to Sustain the Community. \n\nThe conference starts at 
 10:00 AM with keynote speaker Erika Taylor Montgomery, the CEO and Chief 
 Publicist and the Founder of Three Girls Media & Marketing, Inc.  Ms. 
 Montgomery is a passionate business leader, journalist, activist, and 
 publicist from the Bay Area; she has also served as the former Press 
 Secretary for the California State Legislature.\n\nConference attendees 
 will have 15 workshops to choose from between 3 workshop sessions taking 
 place from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm; topics include but are not limited to: 
 Poeseía y testimonio: Women reinventing hope through spirituality and 
 spoken word, Becoming Barbie: A Look at Gender Development and Social 
 Priming in Young Girls and Adolescents, Claiming Agency and Claiming a 
 Movement: Examining the Intersections of Reproductive and Disability 
 Justice, and Her, Their, Hir Story: What Womyn’s Spaces Mean for Gender 
 Variant Individuals.\n\nWorkshops will be followed by the Womyn as Change 
 Makers panel at 4:00 pm, which features social and environmental justice 
 leaders in diverse fields—burlesque dancer and body positivity activist 
 Irene (Renie) McCalphin, environmental outreach coordinator Elizabeth 
 Sarmiento, radio host and journalist Diane Solomon, and restaurant owner 
 and president of Muslim Support Network Moina Shaiq.  The conference will 
 conclude with Womyn Got Talent! Open Mic & Resource Fair at 5:15 PM 
 featuring a live performance by April Chase at 6:00 PM (check out their 
 music at www.aprilchasemusic.com).\n\nEarly bird registration is available 
 for High School Students, $5.00; College Students, $7.00; and General 
 Admission, $17.00. Early Bird Registration ends February 15, 2012. For more
