refer to the politics of environment — and government-backed
environmental protection — via instrumental policies that will reduce
carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases. As more and more Americans look for a
response to the realities of climate change, Frontline correspondent
Deborah Amos investigates the political decisions that have prevented the
United States government from confronting one of the most serious problems
facing humanity today. With this documentary, writer-producer Peter Bull
and Frontline correspondent Deborah Amos, aggressively and convincingly
demonstrate that the United States government continues to travel miles out
of its way to skirt around the issue of global warming. Despite the
persistent warning of the IPCC that the connection between fossil fuels and
global warming is 90% certain, the U.S. government continues to engage in
acts of gross malfeasance that supersede one president, including:
President George H.W. Bush’s push to make CO2 emission targets
“voluntary,” President Bill Clinton’s negligence in securing
Senate-backed ratification of the Kyoto Treaty, and President George W.
Bush’s full withdrawal from the Kyoto accords. Together, these
presidents have helped to drive greenhouse gases up to obscene and unheard
of levels. Via in-depth discussions with environmental activists and
crusaders, Peter Bull underscores the notion that the United States fails
to respond to the issue of global climate change as adequately as other
nations, and investigates the reasons why this is so. This film is brought
to us by Frontline and the Center for Investigative
Reporting.\n\nWheelchair accessible around the corner at 411 28th
