 below\n\nAfter 7 months, Japan keeps failing to stop the radioactive 
 release. Do we want it in the US? Why Japan built 54 reactors, and we have 
 104 in the US? Where do we dump radioactive wastes? What do we know about 
 this nuke-industrial complex,  and how people fight against it in 
 Fukushima, Pan-Asia, California and New York? This educational conference 
 will examine the Fukushima nuclear melt-down, the role of the media in its 
 coverage, how this crisis has affected the development of nuclear power, 
 and the education of the public about the industry.\n\nGuest speakers /

 アンソニー・J・ホール氏(Globalization Studies University of 
 Lethbridge, Canada).  Author, From Hiroshima to Fukushima, 1945-2011: A 
 Nuclear Narrative of Hubris and Tragedy, Mr. Hall describes how the US 
 introduced nuclear power into Japan and manipulates the media 
 message.\n\nSteve Zeltzer / スティーブ・ゼルツァー氏(Labor 
 Video Project). Director of the Labor Video Project and a producer and host 
 on KPFA Radio, Steve is on the steering committee of the annual month long 
 SF Labor Fest and is a member of the No Nukes Action Committee. He recently 
 spent 3 weeks in Japan working on a documentary on the Fukushima nuclear 
 disaster, and will show some of it here.\n\nAndrew Philipps (General 
 Manager, KPFA Radio)  As a journalist with Australia Broadcasting, Phillips 
 reported on the coverup of the radiation impacts in Hiroshima by Wilfred 
 Bruchette, the NY Times reporter who was allowed to go there with the 
 military on the first plane after the bombing. \n\nNoon – 12:45 Lunch;

 バーバラ・ジョージ氏(Women’s Energy Matters).\nBarbara won the 
 first McGlashan Award for Advocacy for Marin Clean Energy, the county-wide 
 competitor to PG&E.  WEM’s proposal to replace nuclear power in 
 California with energy efficiency and renewable energy is currently being 
 considered by the CA Public Utilities Commission.\n\nMarion Pack / 
 マリオン・パック氏 (veteran activist and organizer)\nMarion is 
 working to close San Onofre nuclear power plant with San Clemente Green and 
 Residents Organizing for Safe Energy (R.O.S.E).  As Exec. Dir. of the 
 Orange Co. Alliance for Survival, she was a leader of the successful 10-yr. 
 effort to close the Ward Valley Nuclear Dump. Currently she is the 
 assistant to the Regional Director for the CA Democratic Party. \n\nDonna 
 Gilmore (Communications Director, SOS: San Onofre Safety)\nA resident of 
 San Clemente, Donna’s professional background is in IT, project 
 management, and human resources.  She launched a website for SOS: San 
 Onofre Safety when she learned employees were harassed and fired for 
 reporting unresolved safety violations at SoCalEdison’s nuclear power 
 plant, which the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has repeatedly cited for 
 having the worst safety culture in the US.\n\nSeungkoo Choi / 
 崔勝久氏(Christian Network for Nuke-Free Earth).\nAn Osaka born 
 Zainichi* Korean  activist, Pak won an ethnic-based discrimination case 
 against Hitachi. He participates in anti-nukes actions and community  
 organizing with Citizen’s Group for New Kawasaki and will report on 
 anti-nukes movements in Korea, Mongolia, and Japan. \n\nYuko Tonohira 
 /殿平有子氏 (founder of Todos Somos Japon) A native of Hokkaido, the 
 Northernmost island of Japan, Yuko now resides in Brooklyn, NY. His group 
 hosts a bilingual website Japan–Fissures in Planetary Apparatus.  He 
 will talk about organizing anti-nuclear actions and “we being the
