 Party of Cuba”\n7.  "Cuban foreign policy vs. U.S. foreign policy: 
 revolution and\ncounterrevolution in our backyard"\n8.  "Why Che’s ideas 
 are fundamental for our struggle today"\n9.  "What we need to learn from 
 the Cuban revolution to advance our\nstruggle today"\n10. "Che and the 
 Cuban revolution"\n\nThe Vancouver International Che Guevara Conference 
 began in 2008 in\nhonour of Che’s 80th birthday. Each conference has held 
 a unique\ntheme, the first conference “Che Guevara: Thinker & Fighter - 
 Are His\nIdeas Relevant for the 21st Century?”, 2009 conference “50 
 years of\nDynamism of the Cuban Revolution” and 2010 conference “Cuba 
 &\nRevolutionary Internationalism“. These three notable events 
 which\ndebated and discussed the importance of the Cuban revolution and 
 the\nCuba solidarity movement worldwide from the point of view of 
 activists\nand revolutionaries, were the only of their kind in Canada. We 
 are\npleased that in the last three years we have brought out more 
 than\n1,200 people, 30 speakers, and 25 different subjects surrounding 
 the\nCuban revolution and its internal and external dynamics.\n\nThe 2011 
 conference, coming up November 11-12 will be no different.\nEntitled, 
 “CUBA TODAY: The Gains & Challenges” this conference will\nfeature many 
 important guests, including our honoured guest for the\nsecond year in a 
 row, Dr. Aleida Guevara, Cuban Leader, Prominent\nAuthor and Daughter of 
 Legendary Revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara.\n\nVancouver Communities in 
 Solidarity with Cuba will also be working\nwith the Free the Cuban 5 
 Committee – Vancouver to co-organize a\nspecial event following the 
 conference on Sunday November 13, 2011.\nThis event will be a cultural 
 celebration and tribute to our 5 Cuban\nHeroes and the world-wide struggle 
 for their freedom from United\nStates prisons. It will feature 
 presentations by leaders of the\ninternational movement for the freedom of 
 the 5 Cuban heroes from\nCuba, US and Canada. As well as showing a new 
 documentary, poetry,\nlive music and dance performances. We will also be
