 is premiering Miss Representation, a documentary on how women are portrayed 
 in the media Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 7:00 PM. The premier is open to 
 SJSU students and the community at large. After the film, a panel 
 discussion will take place.  This is the first time the film will be shown 
 in San Jose. \n	Miss Representation is a highly acclaimed film having 
 received awards at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, 2011 San Francisco Film 
 Festival and many more. Directed by the Bay Area’s own Jennifer Siebel 
 Newsom Miss Representation has premiered in private screenings all over the 
 country and debuted on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network this past 
 October.\n	Newsome is the CEO and founder of MissRepresentation.org and 
 this film is the product of her call-to-action campaign empowering women 
 and youth all over the world. The documentary brings light to discrepancies 
 representing female influence and power in mainstream media. It divulges 
 real stories from teenage girls and provoking interviews with politicians, 
 actors, activists and academics like Condoleezza Rice, Rachel Maddow and 
 Rosario Dawson.\n\n
