DESCRIPTION:\nFilm evenings begin with potluck refreshments and social hour at 6:30
pm,\nfollowed by the film at 7:30 pm, followed by a discussion after the
film.\n\nThe Fountainhead\nby King Vidor\n\nBased on the famous novel, The
Fountainhead, by philosopher Ayn Rand, this classic feature film, made in
Hollywood, is the story of heroic architect Howard Roark. An
uncompromising idealist, Roark believes he can balance his values with the
needs of society. His mentor disagrees and encourages him to compromise
his integrity rather than suffer for his artistic goals. The novel was
adapted for the film almost exactly as Ayn Rand prescribed — she was the
screen writer for this film version of her novel. The film is actually a
dramatization of Ayn Rand’s controversial objectivist philosophy that
promotes individual rights. It’s a beautifully made black-and-white film
noir from 1949.\n\nWheelchair accessible around the corner at 411 28th
 Street\n\n$5 donations are accepted\n
