DESCRIPTION:On Friday, November 11th at 6:30 pm, four influential national and local
sustainability leaders will gather at Cabrillo College’s Crocker Theater
for a one-time only speaking event. Led by revolutionary activist Frances
Moore Lappé, the discussion will center around her newly released book
EcoMind, addressing issues like making real food a human right, restoring
the earth, and achieving peace through true democracy. \n\nAnthropologist
Jane Goodall calls Ecomind "Powerful and inspiring, Ecomind will open your
eyes and change your thinking. I want everyone to read it."
\n\nCo-sponsored by UCSC Sustainability Office and Cabrillo College
Sustainability Council, the event will both enlighten and motivate
attendees with real solutions to pressing issues. Lappé will appear with
local author John Robbins, known globally for popularizing the links among
nutrition, environmentalism and animal rights, Dr. Wallace J. Nichols,
ocean scientist, author, advocate and founder of BLUEMiND, and Michael
Levy, founder of Transition Santa Cruz. At a time when we need it most,
these four thought leaders will engage the audience through ideas and
solutions to local and global food, environmental and poverty issues.\n\n
