DESCRIPTION:Nico was schooled in resistance by the campesinos and campesinas of
Colombia. He spent one year in the Peace Community of San José de
Apartadó, and three years with the communities in the Magdalena Medio,
Arauca, Catatumbo and Bogotá. Later, he worked with tenants facing
displacement in Brooklyn, NY, and spent time with the villages resisting
the Apartheid Wall in Palestine.\n\n	Nico spends much of his time working
in collaboration with the vast network of local groups and organizers
around the country that are making the movement strong. SOA Watch brings
together religious communities, students, teachers, immigrants, veterans,
community organizers, musicians, puppetistas and many others. New
layers of activists are joining the movement to close the SOA in large
numbers, including numerous youth and students from multinational,
working-class communities. When Nico is on the road to visit and exchange
ideas with local SOA Watch groups, he strives to actively foster equal
exchanges and relationship building between communities that are involved
in the same struggle for justice and democracy.\n\n
