DESCRIPTION:We are looking for people to join the committee to build the campaign for A 
 Day in Solidarity with African People and the event in Oakland that will 
 host the leadership of the Uhuru Movement.  \n\nThis year's theme for A Day 
 in Solidarity with African People is African Resistance, Reparations and 
 the Struggle for Self-determination. \n\nIt is national campaign for 
 solidarity with justice, liberation and self-determination for African 
 people everywhere.\n\nAs we see with the rebellions in London sparked by 
 the police murder of another African man, African community in the UK as in 
 the US is bearing the brunt of the economic crisis - \nwith an 
 ever-widening income gap, massive unemployment and\nescalating police 
 violence. It's time to take the pledge of solidarity and make a commitment 
 to reparations to the African community.\n\nThe system isn't going to solve 
 the problems it has created for the African community.\nWe support the 
 Uhuru Movement in building African self-reliance programs 
 including:\n\nEconomic development institutions to create community 
 commerce\nCommunity gardens to provide access to healthy food\nFreedom 
 schools that offer community-based, meaningful curriculum\nIndependent 
 media like Uhuru News, Uhuru Radio and The Burning Spear Newspaper\n
