DESCRIPTION:On April 2nd, 1969, 21 members of the Black Panther Party were arrested in
New York and charged with conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism. The trial
lasted two years and represented the culmination of attempts by the police
to disrupt organizing being done by the BBP. The arrests also set in motion
a country wide crack-down on the Panthers. Gerald Smith, a former member of
the New York Black Panthers discusses the case, now over 40 years later,
and talks about how revolutionary movements must deal with police
repression. He will also speak on the growing movement across California
 against police violence.\n
