DESCRIPTION:Glen Cove Action Alert:\nCall to Gather at Vallejo City Hall this Tuesday,
July 12th at 5:00pm\n\nAt the next Vallejo City Council meeting on Tuesday
July 12th, representatives of the Cortina and Yocha Dehe tribes will be
making proposals to the city regarding the future of Glen
Cove.\n\nIMPORTANT UPDATE: The City of Vallejo’s agenda for Tuesday
states that the discussion re:Glen Cove will be a closed session, with
representatives the City, GVRD, and the Yocha Dehe and Cortina tribes. This
closed session is scheduled for 5:30pm, and there is no mention of Glen
Cove on the agenda for the public 7:00pm City Council meeting.\n\nHowever,
the agenda also states that by law, “Members of the public shall have the
opportunity to address the City Council concerning any item listed on the
notice before or during consideration of that item.”\n
\nThe Committee
to Protect Glen Cove is requesting that our supporters attend this City
Council meeting (Tuesday, July 12th) in order to show support for a binding
agreement that will fully protect all 15 acres of the Glen Cove sacred
burial grounds. We are in support of a cultural easement or other agreement
that would stop plans for a parking lot and toilets and would prevent
bulldozing on the West side of the cove.\n\nPlease show your support for
protecting Glen Cove at this critical time.\nGather in front of City Hall
