DESCRIPTION:Interactive Theatrical Presentation\nJohn Gibler with Kairos Theater
 Ensemble\n \nSince 2006, 40,000 individuals have been killed and 10,000
disappeared in Mexico’s so-called drug war, producing excess deaths and
surplus terror on par with any armed military conflict. John Gibler, author
of To Die in Mexico, in conjunction with Kairos Theater Ensemble, will
deconstruct the violence and carnage, showing how state interests and
transnational economics drive this rolling atrocity, where murder is a
business strategy, impunity a competitive advantage, and death part of the
overhead. Counting and recounting the stories of the murdered, the raped
and tortured, this theatrical presentation and dialogue seeks to bring
clarity, critical nuance, and human detail to challenge the erasure and
terror of the free-trade-induced narco-state formation, and to give voice
to "those who rebel against silence and anonymous death." \n\nJohn Gibler
is a journalist, writer and cultural activist and the author of Mexico
Unconquered and To Die in Mexico. He writes for Left Turn, Z Magazine,
Colorlines, and has reported for DemocracyNow!, CNN, KPFA, Al Jazzera.
\n\nKairos Theater Ensemble is a professional theater company dedicated to
challenging structural violence & systemic oppression by using theater to
bear witness, create dialogue, and inspire creative problem-solving and
 activism.\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2011/06/22/18682679.php
