 flag and carrying a cross,”  So stated Sinclair Lewis in 1935 in his 
 popular novel “It Can’t Happen Here”, which two years later was 
 adapted to the stage and performed in 15 cities simultaneously by the 
 Federal Theatre Project.  The evening’s program by the Indelible Voices 
 Projects features a dramatic reading of Lewis’ play by a talented group 
 of local actors as well as a presentation on Sinclair Lewis, the Federal 
 Theatre Project, and the impact of “It Can’t Happen Here” in the 30s
