 FEST\n\nMay 14th, 10:30 am to 3 pm at  Fernandez Park, Pinole (behind the 
 businesses at Tennent and San Pablo Avenues. (use 595 Tennent to google or 
 mapquest directions)\n\nThis environmental fair was the first of it's kind 
 to entertain, educate and inform young children and their families about 
 the importance of caring for the earth, it's resources, it's water, and 
 it's beloved creatures. It's a parents dream event - there is NOTHING to 
 buy, everything is free - food, crafts, activities, and even a free lunch 
 for the first 200 people. Perfect for kids 0-9 (or so) and their 
 families.\n\nCheck us out on Facebook!\n\n\n\nHere is just a brief 
 description of what you will see and do:\n\n\nMain Stage 
 Entertainers:\n\nDoug Nolan, eco-entertainer, master juggler and magician, 
 and all around nice guy (rides an eight foot tall unicycle, too?!!)\n\nREAL 
 Native American Storyteller Jessie Riddle and her tales from long ago\n\nA 
 live band! Shay and the Sugar Daddies will rock you with rhythm & 
 blues\n\nChildren's book author Laura Lee with songs and stories in both 
 English and Mandarin\n\n\nActivities:\n\nCrayfish Capers with Windrush 
 School and Lawrence Hall of Science\n\nInflatable jumpers for the little 
 ones to jump in (efficiently burning some of their own energy!)\n\nLive 
 native bugs (ladybugs, snails and worms): what's a friend in the garden and 
 how to attract them, what's not and how to environmentally correctly get 
 them to leave\n\nWhat is a Watershed? A look at a working model and what we 
 can learn from it\n\nFace painting\n\nPotter's wheel and clay (with lovely 
 Lauren, a real, live artist)\n\nJuggling workshop (learn the basics from 
 the pros)\n\nWorm composting bins (make little wiggler "starter kits" that 
 you can take home)\n\nCorn husk doll making\n\nPets are family, too - learn 
 what makes a good pet "parent"\n\nBooks-on-the-go in our story reading 
 booth - and get a yummy cookie for listening in\n\nCreek clean-up (adjacent 
 to the park - how convenient!)\n\nTours of the star of our show, the 
 Creek!\n\nAlternative energy vehicles: Dr. Joe and his ever-so-enviro 
 solar/electric pick-up truck\n\nPine cone bird feeders - make and take home 
 your very own\n\nFishing game- come try your hand at catching our home-made 
 "fish" and learn why clean water is really important to them\n\nFormerly 
 live native animals and making plaster of Paris castings of animal prints 
 (like bobcats, raccoons, and the like) learn how to reduce your carbon 
 footprint\n\nToy car wash (and u-color door hangers on why that's not so 
 hot for the creek)\n\nThe Pinole Fire and Police Departments (wow, 
 cool!!)\n\nPLUS...\n\nfree lawn games, demonstrations, crafts and 
 activities. Did I mention cool raffle prizes, too? New booths are added 
 daily. (In fact, if you or your organization can volunteer to staff a
