 revolution and boosted by the Egyptian revolt, popular uprisings are 
 sweeping the Arab world. The revolutionary process unleased is transforming 
 power relations in the region. How did it start? Why is it spreading? How 
 do the uprisings differ? What is at stake for the U.S.? Where will it 
 lead?\n\nDr. Stephen Zunes is Professor of Politics and International 
 Studies at the University of San Francisco, where he chairs the Program in 
 Middle Eastern Studies. He has written three books on the Middle 
 East.\n\nDr. Mayy ElHayawi is Assistant Professor at 'Ayn Shams University 
 in Egypt, and presently a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Stanford 
 University.\n\nDr. Khalil Barhoum coordinates the Stanford University 
 program in Arabic and African Languages and Literatures.\n\nDr. Sharat G. 
 Lin is an eyewitness to the uprising in Egypt. He is president of the San 
 Jose Peace & Justice Center, and has written numerous articles on the
