Descendants Speak Out 100 Years After The Fire \nThe Triangle Shirtwaist
Fire in New York City was the largest industrial catastrophe in US history
to that point. The deaths of 146 mostly immigrant Jewish and Italian women
garment workers shook not only New York but the US. It took place at the
same time of a massive union organizing drive that included the issue of
health and safety protection for garment workers. \nIn Northern California,
there are descendant's of the fire and at this forum they will speak about
how the Triangle Fire impacted on their lives and their families and what
it means today for the American people. \nPanelists: \nEileen Nevitt,
Granddaughter of Triangle Fire garment worker \nSteve Rosen, Grandson of
Triangle Fire garment worker \nMichel Pred, relative of Triangle Fire
garment worker \nElise Kline, Granddaughter of Triangle Fire garment worker
