DESCRIPTION:The revolt against the tyrants has put the word "revolution" on the lips of
people everywhere, and reshaped the politics of North Africa, the Middle
East and the world.\n\nProtesters in Tunisia and Egypt successfully
overthrew their dictators’ decades-long rule, and uprisings have spread
far and wide in the region.\n\nDictators have resorted to murderous
repression and military intervention to stop the momentum of the revolts,
while foreign countries and the UN, in voting for a No-Fly Zone, have
committed to military intervention of which the scale remains to be
seen.\n\nCome discuss the implications of the revolts, and what we can do
in the US to help push these revolutions forward.\n\nWith:\n\nJess Ghannam,
National Coordinating Committee Chair of Al-Awda, the Palestine Right to
Return Coalition\n\nWafa Faris, activist in solidarity with the revolt in
Libya\n\nMohammad Talat, Bay Area organizer, member of the March 9 Movement
for Egyptian University Independence.\n\nImam Khaled Hanoui, Syrian
American activist in solidarity with the revolt against Bashar
al-Assad.\n\nMatt Swagler, Ph.D. student in African history at Columbia
 University and analyst for SocialistWorker.org.\n
