DESCRIPTION:The Block Report is one of the most valuable apparatuses of the POCC. POCC
is an acronym for the Prisoners of Conscience Committee, known throughout
the community as the Panther Cubs.\n\nOur position is that there is a war
being waged on our community, and we say what Minister Huey P. Newton said,
“if we don’t fight back, it can be defined as nothing less than
reactionary suicide”. And we understand in warfare, when we’re under
attack, communications is one of the primary moves that the enemy will
attempt to wipe out.\n\nThe Block Report, as well as a number of other
apparatuses, but the Block Report in particular, has and continues to serve
as one of our major communications vehicles. It is an apparatus that has
taken the word from every venue that we touch, that we are able to tap
into; whether it be the venue of electoral politics with updates from
forces such as former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, whether it be
updates on the POCC Code of Culture with Mos Def, and him coming to court
to testify for our Minister of Defense Aaron Patterson, as well as day to
day campaigns that we are dealing with such as the issue of police
terrorism, with the case of Oscar Grant who was executed by Oakland BART
pig by the name of Johannes Mehserle, January 1st of 2009.\n\nSo again the
Block Report taps into every venue of our community, and is able to
communicate as well as translate the contradictions, and not in a dogmatic
or elitist type of way.\n\nWe commend our Central Committee, our
Information Bureau that is able to, even though those in our community
don’t read as much as we would like for them to read, take this
information here, internalize it, and move it around in the community in
laymen terms so whether it be forces at Merritt College or Yale University,
or those on 47th Street in Chicago, or the streets of Cincinnatti, they can
be updated with the day to day campaigns, the attacks on our community, as
well as different venues where we can resist these attacks that are being
 waged on the community.\n
