DESCRIPTION:Discussion on Ending the Oppression of Black People - further discussion of
the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America (Draft
Proposal) .This week's issue of Revolution newspaper has some very
interesting back and forth relevant to the scheduled discussion including a
letter from a reader in prison, and a response to that letter from
Revolution newspaper which begins (below):\n \nDear Reader,\n\nWe thank you
for writing Revolution about the Constitution for the New Socialist
Republic in North America (Draft Proposal). This letter appeared in #224,
as Prisoners Debate the Section: "Minority and Formerly Oppressed
Nationalities."\n\nYou raise a number of criticisms and concerns. The heart
of the criticism is contained in your statements "it should be the right of
all [oppressed nationalities] to self determination" and "any way I look at
it, I see you can't allow African Americans the right to secede but not
Mexican-Americans or Native Americans. I see no reason why RCP could not
have gone across the board with Blacks, Mexicans, and Natives having
equality in determining their future."\n\nHere we want to answer these and
related points...(see complete letter - Reply to Letter on the Section
"Minority and Formerly Oppressed Nationalities") .\n\n*****\n\nYou can read
the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North American (Draft
Proposal) here .\n\nThe following sections of the Constitution have
particular relevance for this discussion.\n\nArticle II. Regions,
Localities, and Basic Institutions.\n\nArticle III. Rights of the People
and the Struggle to Uproot All Exploitation and Oppression.\n\nYou can
purchase the Constitution online here, or come in to Revolution Books and
 get your copy.)\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2011/03/01/18673416.php
