 defend public education. Investigative reporter Peter Byrne, author of the 
 series "The Investors Club: How the University of California Regents Spin 
 Public Money into Private Profit" published in Spot.us and other California 
 newsweeklies will present. Also presenting will be Cindy Sheehan speaking 
 on building a vibrant and independent movement for public education. 
 Sheehan ran as an independent candidate for US Congress in 2008 against 
 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.\n\nThere will also be speakers from Associated 
 Students, and an Open Mic for discussion. There will be several local 
 artists and poets for entertainment during the last hour and a half of the
