DESCRIPTION: New York International Film Festival, Rio de Janeiro International
Short Film Festival, San Francisco Latino Film Festival... and now
Revolution Books.\n Waqayñan means "Imaginary Road" in the Quechua
language. Shot in a remote indigenous community in Bolivia, this beautiful
30 minute documentary is about the Tinku, a violent Quechua tradition
having to do with self-sacrifice for Mother Earth. Through the film we see
the tension between indigenous cultural tradition and evangelical
Christianity. Waqayñan is innovative, thought provoking, and a window into
the lives of people on the other side of the world.\n\n\n
