DESCRIPTION:Thursday November 11th 2010 - Opening Night at the Palace of Fine Arts -
11/11/10 Evening Screenings 7:00 pm\nFeaturing the documentary feature film
"A Good Day to Die" which is up for this year's "Best Documentary Feature"
award.\n\nThis film tells the personal story of Dennis Banks, an Anishnabe
man, born on the Leech Lake Reservation in Minnesota in 1973, who grew up
to become a leader of the American Indian Movement (AIM) which holds a rich
history here in the Bay Area. Dennis Banks' life as an AIM Leader continues
even as he approaches his 74th year and his efforts, along with those of
AIM, were instrumental in changing the destiny of many American Indian
people for the better because he and others were willing to die to change
things. It will always be a 'good day to die' for anyone who stands up for
what is right, better if we would all stand up together and create a better
world for all human beings. \n\nDirectors Lynn Salt and David Mueller will
be present for the screening as will the renowned American Indian Activist
Dennis Banks, all available for Q&A.\n\nFor more information visit the
American Indian Film Festival's website at http://www.aifisf.com\n
