 coal deposits in the U.S. More than 14,000 Dine’ (Navajo) people have 
 been forcibly removed from their ancestral homelands by the US Government 
 working with Peabody Coal Company to expand their mines into this sacred 
 land.\n\nDine’ families are now in their THIRD DECADE resisting this 
 travesty. Many resisters are elderly and the winters can be very rough. 
 With the guidance of the Black Mesa elders, the aim of this benefit is to 
 raise funds for their priorities and to support a caravan of volunteers to 
 chop and haul firewood, do minor repair work, and help with sheep herding 
 during the week of Thanksgiving- right before the cold winter months
