 St.)\n \nHosts:   Families and Immigrants Workgroup of the Coalition on 
 Homelessness and Creative Housing Liberation\n4:00-5:00PM:  RALLY:  Face 
 Painting, Food/Drink, Music, Fun Activities for the Kids & 
 Grown-Ups!\n\n5:00-6:00PM:  Candlelight Procession to a vacant building 
 nearby\n\n7:00-8:00PM:  Ceromonial reading of names who have died and 
 theatrical "Die-In"  honoring those who have suffered life on the streets  
 \n\nOver 6 million people are currently homeless in this country and over 
 1.5 million are homeless children:  That is 1 in every 50 children in the 
 United States!  Affordable housing has vanished for countless people in 
 recent decades.  In 2001, there were an estimated 4.7 million fewer 
 affordable housing units than families.  The vast majority of these 
 homeless families live in extreme poverty with incomes around $5,000 
 annually - less than half of the national poverty level.\n\n
