DESCRIPTION:Mer Zandifar, Iranian-American art, music, and hypnosis therapist, will
lead workshop participants to use their voices to move past self
consciousness and into powerful self- and community expression.\n\nWe'll
discuss how liberating the voice is symbolically and literally related to
activism, and how self-consciousness and judgmental attitudes about our
voices can be internal manifestations of oppressive forces in the world.
Through vocal exercises and learning songs of
freedom/liberation/revolution, participants will experience the healing and
empowering action of community vocal expression. http://merzandifar.com/
\n\nJim Dias, activist and musician, will be accompanying the circle with
 guitar and drum. \nhttp://www.mypsace.com/thelovedimension\n\nThis event
takes place as part of Art Span's Open Studios. Participants are invited to
stay for sound healing sessions at Mer's studio, or explore the Mission and
other neighborhoods hosting Open Studios this weekend.
