\nAt: NALC Local 1111 Richmond Union Hall \n402 37th St. Richmond, CA 94805
\n\nCalifornia public workers are under the greatest \nattack since the
1930’s. The many gains made by \npublic workers from decent wages and
working \nconditions to proper healthcare benefits and pen- \nsions are
under assault. This is a coordinated effort \nby big business and their
representatives to weaken \nand destroy both public workers and their
unions, \nwhich are the largest and most significant part of \norganized
labor in this state and nation. \nPublic workers must begin the process of
educating \nourselves first and the public at large why privati- \nzation
is a threat to our entire society and the future \nof our state and
 country. \nTo carry out this task, on September 25, 2010, a \nCalifornia
Public Education and Public Workers \nConference will be held to provide an
overview of \nthe history of privatization in California and how \nthe
economic crisis is now being used as a pretext \nto step up the outsourcing
and destruction of the \npublic sector. \nJoin with unions from the public
education, public \ntransit agencies and public services, and also with
\nstudents and unorganized workers to discuss the af- \nfect of
privatization and develop a plan and action \nprogram to educate and fight
back against these at- \ntacks. \nInitial List of Speakers: \nMary
