DESCRIPTION:Ricardo Ortiz, founding member of the Frente Socialista de Puerto Rico, 
 will discuss the Puerto Rican people’s resistance to colonial oppression, 
 with a special focus on the leadership role of women, unionists and youth. 
 \n\nGeneral strikes against austerity measures and a historic student 
 strike last spring are part of this militant tradition. Learn more about 
 the fight to end U.S. occupation of the island and the right of 
 self-determination and independence for Puerto Rico. \n\nDiscussion to 
 follow the presentation.  The event takes place on Friday, September 17, 
 7:00pm at New Valencia Hall, 625 Larkin Street #202, San Francisco (near 
 Civic Center BART/Muni). \n\nDoor donation $3-5.00.  Hearty salad and 
 sandwich buffet  available at 6:30pm for a $6 donation. Work exchanges and
