DESCRIPTION:Robert Fisk, arguably the foremost living foreign correspondent, will speak 
 at Dominican University on Thursday, September 23, at 7 pm in Angelico 
 Hall, 50 Acacia Ave, San Rafael .  \n\nReporting on the Middle East from 
 Beirut, Lebanon, for The Independent of London for over 30 years, Fisk has 
 delivered news and analysis of what he describes as “the catastrophes” 
 of the region.  Because of his experience and contacts, he has been 
 consistently on the spot when key events break and describes them vividly.  
 \n\nBesides his reporting, Fisk has gathered his accounts in best-selling 
 books, most notably, The Age of the Warrior (2008), The Great War for 
 Civilization: The Conquest of the Middle East (2005) and Pity the Nation: 
 The Abduction of Lebanon (2001). \n\nFisk’s subject will be “The Press 
 and The Great War for Civilization: Mirage and Reality in the Middle 
 East.” He will unfold his views through an interview with Jess Ghannam, 
 Professor of Medical Psychology at the University of California San 
 Francisco who has developed health centers on the West Bank and Gaza over 
 15 years. Ghannam also hosts a Bay Area radio talk-show on Middle-Eastern 
 affairs.\n\nThe presentation will be followed by Q & A and a book-signing. 
 A donation of $10 is requested, but no one will be turned away. Dominican 
 faculty and students are free.\n\nThe event is sponsored by the Marin Peace 
 and Justice Coalition and the “Expressions Project” of Dominican
