DESCRIPTION:Demonstrators to Protest Google-Verizon Proposal to FCC\n\nOn Friday,
August 13th, at noon support internet neutrality by joining the Raging
Grannies in protest in front of Google headquarters in Mountain View. The
Grannies will be demonstrating to protest Google's poorly veiled attempt to
look as if they support principles of net neutrality.\n\nThe Grannies say:
"The FCC doesn't need input from Google OR Verizon. And now AT&T has joined
in the corporate grab in support of the Google proposal to the FCC. Those
are all companies the FCC is supposed to be overseeing. The Google-Verizon
plan actually works against the concepts of true internet neutrality
because corporations are motivated by profit. When Google says they support
internet neutrality the opposite is actually true. They are really just
laying the groundwork to protect their markets".\n\nThe Grannies will
provide songs, signs, and talking points. Come help us make a big showing
at arrogant Google. Media is expected, both corporate and independent.\n
