 President Obama concluded an international summit on nuclear arms in 
 Washington, D.C. The final statement from the forty-seven-nation summit 
 agreed to block certain nations from obtaining the technology for advanced 
 nuclear power and weapons. \n\nThe U.S. continues to have countries like 
 Iran and North Korea in its sights for nuclear disarmament while looking 
 the other way when allies, such as Israel, acquire them. Meanwhile the U.S. 
 retains the right to attack with nuclear weapons, is still the only country 
 to ever use a nuclear weapon against another nation, and has the biggest 
 stockpile of the most advanced nuclear weaponry.\n\nInstead of calling for 
 a “nuclear free world”, we should intensify our call to disarm the most 
 dangerous nuclear power that exists—the Pentagon.\n\nAnniversary of 
 Rodney King Verdict\n\nApril 29 marks 18 years since the 1992 Los Angeles 
 uprising sparked by an outrageous jury verdict that found four white police 
 officers “not guilty” of viciously beating a Black man, Rodney 
 King.\n\nAfter the verdict, rebellion overtook much of South Los 
 Angeles—the heart of the Black and Latino communities. Tens of thousands 
 were in the streets, showing once again that, under the racist capitalist 
 system, working-class people inevitably will rise up against
